Last year (thanks to a posting on the UHNA Yahoo Group) I enrolled in a CSA called Serenbe Farms.
They are located in Palmetto, GA and deliver a weekly share of organic produce to Strongbox West (off Defoor Place) in our neighborhood. Their prices are more than reasonable and their veggies, herbs and fruit are UNBELIEVABLY delicious.
What I grew to love about the CSA shares is the variety of produce I received was vastly different than what I would've bought at Publix, Trader Joes or Whole Foods so I tried new recipes and found new favorites.
This is the last week of the CSA season and I've been spoiled - I am sad to say Goodbye until next April. With the pre-registration for next year due I thought I'd share how awesome (and convenient) Serenbe Farms has made it to eat organic & local. The kids LOVE "visiting the farmer" each week with our produce bags. I let them stuff the bags full and help me rinse it all when we get home. They are much more likely to eat the collards and spinach when they see where their food comes from.
Serenbe offers Half Shares as well as Full Shares and you can even "go in" with a friend or neighbor and divvy up the goods. You will not be sorry!
