Welcome Russia!

As moms we tend to become so involved in the care-taking of others that we neglect ourselves. While this is a generalization I know many of you can relate. So when out-of-routine non-family events arise I find myself coming up with 101 excuses why I could better utilize my time doing something for the family instead. Take this week's MNO, for example. I truly wanted to go but as I was getting ready and feeling hopeless with my mascara wand in hand, I thought of dishes and laundry and baking and cleaning and all the things I could get done in 3 hours of uninterrupted time while the kids slept and my husband watched the game. But instead of submitting to those crazy thoughts I actually donned a dress and boots and headed out. Solo. Sans kids. Without diaper bag. And minus the worrying if I had everything because as it turns out I require very little. Just a sip of margarita, a few corn chips and lots of laughter amongst new friendly faces.

Also, randomly...welcome Russia! Our blog "stats" have included a few Russian readers this week.
